SerialTek seeks a Field Application Engineer with deep expertise in PCIe, NVMe, and CXL protocols and hands-on experience with protocol analysis tools. This is a customer-facing role first: you will be the face of SerialTek to engineering teams across India and the wider APAC region. We are looking for someone who is as comfortable in front of a customer as they are in front of a trace.

Responsibilities

• Build and own trusted technical relationships with assigned accounts, such as SSD and controller vendors, silicon teams, hyperscalers, and server OEMs
• Resolve customer technical challenges across PCIe link training, NVMe command handling, and CXL device behavior
• Configure and demonstrate Kodiak analyzers and SI-Fi interposers on customer setups, including on-site evaluations and proofs of concept
• Deliver training, product presentations, and workshops to customer engineering and management audiences
• Author application notes and debug guides that make complex protocol behavior clear to a working engineer
• Manage support cases through Jira or CRM systems and escalate to engineering with clear trace evidence
• Feed field findings back into product management and engineering
• Travel to customer sites, plugfests, and industry events across India and APAC, with occasional international travel

Required Qualifications

• Strong customer-facing ability — you build rapport quickly, present clearly to mixed technical and management audiences, and stay composed and credible when a customer is under schedule pressure
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years in validation, test, firmware, applications engineering, or technical support within storage, semiconductor, or datacenter hardware
• Strong knowledge of the PCIe protocol stack
• Solid NVMe fundamentals
• Familiarity with CXL.io / CXL.cache / CXL.mem, device types 1/2/3, and link initialization
• Demonstrated protocol trace debug experience
• Fluent written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior pre-sales, field applications, or customer training experience at a test-and-measurement or EDA vendor
• Experience with protocol analyzers, exercisers, or error-injection tools
• Exposure to PCIe 6.x/7.0 and CXL 3.x/4.0 bring-up or validation
• Knowledge of SAS/SATA, NVMe-oF, NVMe-MI, or Zoned Namespaces
• Familiarity with datacenter form factors — U.2/U.3, M.2, E1.S, E3.S, CEM — and OCP platform conventions
• Python scripting and Linux troubleshooting fluency
• Participation in PCI-SIG, CXL Consortium, NVM Express, or OCP working groups
